2024 European Parliament elections: your vote counts!

European Parliament 22 May 2024
DATE
22 May 2024

The elections for the European Parliament are scheduled to be held from 6 to 9 June 2024.

The EU in general and the European Parliament in particular make laws that impact the growth of renewables and energy storage in Europe. Recently, the European Parliament has played a crucial role in setting into law the EU’s commitment to become climate-neutral by 2050 and the new legally binding target of 42.5% of renewables in the EU’s final energy consumption by 2030.

But this is not a given. The new European Parliament could end up being much less in favour of renewables and energy storage than the current one if we don’t turn out to vote.

Every vote counts. The higher the turnout, the more likely we will get a Parliament that reflects the pro-renewables views of most Europeans. You, your family, your friends, your colleagues can all make a difference.
