On 13 April 2022, Breakthrough Energy, the European Association for Storage of Energy – EASE, SolarPower Europe, and WindEurope signed an open letter calling on the European Commission to recognise energy storage’s crucial role for the security of energy supply in Europe. The letter was was co-signed by more than 20 organisations.
Following the success of the open letter an awareness campaign was developed to stress the importance of energy storage, not only for the achievement of energy security, but also for the fulfilment of the energy targets and a reduction of citizens’ energy bills.
